Weight Watchers Weigh in Week 9

Hello.  Yesterday Monday, March 5 marked my 9th week of a Lifestyle Change 2012 and I continue to do well.  I weighed in at Weight Watchers (WW), I gained .8 ounces.  Not bad.  One does not lose weight every week, I know that I have not.  After 9 weeks of a Lifestyle Change I lost a total of 8.8 pounds and I am proud of my progress.

My progress is due to hard work in the gym and weight watchers.  I like working out and I am glad that I have made that important in my life again.  I started out really slow in the gym and I continue to take my time  until my body is ready and more in shape to do a lot more.  I work out 30 minutes about 3 days a week with goals much higher for later when I am ready.  On days that I have more time like the weekend, I spend a lot more time in the gym.  For example, this past Sunday I had enough time to jog 3 miles.  I have also committed myself to Weight Watchers.  I have done WW in the past and really enjoyed it so I was excited about signing up again and following the diet as I should.  So far, I am doing well and what helps me a lot is having etools where I can do all of my calculations for my food on my phone.  LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!  It is the best.  It just makes it very convenient, pick up my phone and just plug in my points so that I can keep track.  It also has featured recipes.  I have already tried about 4 different recipes and they are great.  They don't taste like diet food.  One thing about WW for me is that I love to eat so I cannot just live on an empty stomach.  I just find foods that are good for you and are not a lot of points and eat a lot of those things.  I eat a lot!

There are so many things that I want to share and will do so.  Please comment and let me know what you want to hear, what you like, and/or feel free to share some of the things that you are doing to make a Lifestyle Change in 2012.

Below I will just share a few things that I do to help me eat right, stay on track, work out, and stay committed:

-Lots of water everyday.  Bottom Dollar sells a case for $2.49 which equals about 11 cents per bottle.  BJ's sells a case for about $3.49 (actually a few more bottles in a case) and that averages 12 cents per bottle.  I realize that plastic is not great for you so if you have other ideals...I keep a small cooler in the car so that I always have a bottle on hand.  When you are on the way to a meeting at your job, grab a bottle, you would be surprised at the empty bottle when you leave the meeting.  I don't really drink much except water.  Why not cut down at least until you get to your goal weight and then you can add drinks with a few calories.

-fruit.  I cut up my fruit every night.  If  I don't, the apple may sit in the fridge at work.  If it is cut up, I use a fork to eat it for convenience.  I can sit at my desk and I don't have to stop my work.  Sometimes I grab my bowl of fruit and take it to a meeting.  The secret is that it is zero points.  So why not get full of zero points.  I like to fill myself up on the fruit and that holds me over longer until lunch.  Not only that, if you are drinking your water then you are even more full.  So I might have a yogurt and water for breakfast.  Then for snack I eat a piece of fruit.  I usually try to buy what is on sell and I might just buy enough for the following week depending on which fruit.  Tonight I went to Giant and I was going to buy Gala apples for $1.99 per pound.  Then I looked at the bagged Gala and realized that 3 pounds were $3.99 per bag and I realized that was my better buy.  I bought one bag.  Normally I buy my Gala apples from Bottom Dollar because they are $2.99 per bag for 3 pounds, so .99 cents per pound.  I only bought one bag from Giant because on the weekend I will buy a couple of bags from Bottom Dollar.  .99 cents is always my goal for apples and grapes but that is not always possible.

-yogurt for breakfast.  I was going for the yogurt on sale but I am more interested in points.  So now I go to Wegman's and buy their WW brand that is 2 points.  A lot of the yogurts are 3 points.  If you go for the 3 points, you should always have a coupon.  The cheapest I see yogurt is at BJ's by buying a case and if you have a coupon on top of that, wow, really cheap!

Good luck!  Just start with the above and if you have any questions, please ask.
